Default Judgement Entered — $4,042 Still Owing
On 1 June 2021, the Ringwood Magistrates' Court of Victoria entered a default judgement in Case M10535941 ordering WPN Motorsports (ABN 63 615 546 059), operated by Andrew Ian Laurence John Dewar, to pay $3,262.50. This judgement arose from a consumer dispute in which $2,247 was paid for car audio installation services that were never performed. No defence was filed. With accrued interest, the total debt stands at $4,542. A single payment of $500 was received on 12 December 2021. As at the date of this publication, $4,042 remains unpaid. This website presents the documented facts of this matter to assist other consumers in making informed decisions.
Mark hired Andrew Dewar (WPN Motorsports) via Airtasker for a car audio installation. $165 was paid through Airtasker's escrow and $2,082 was transferred directly to Dewar's Bendigo Bank account at his request — which breached Airtasker's terms and voided the platform's consumer protections.
No installation was ever performed. No parts were ever delivered or shown. Dewar provided a series of excuses documented in text messages: waiting for parts, steering harness delays, COVID-19, being in Sydney, and claiming an ex-partner had stolen the parts.
Mark requested a full refund. Dewar refused. He then made multiple promises to repay — including a specific commitment to pay by 8 February 2021 — and broke every one. A police report was filed (ReportCyber ref: CIRS-20201110-83).
A complaint was filed in the Magistrates' Court of Victoria at Ringwood (Case M10535941). Dewar was personally served at 7 Ohio Crescent, Narre Warren. He filed no defence. Registrar M. Sargent entered a default judgement ordering WPN Motorsports to pay $3,262.50. A warrant to seize property and an oral examination summons followed.
A single payment of $500 was received on 12 December 2021. With accrued interest, the total debt stands at $4,542. As at 4 March 2026, $4,042 remains unpaid.
